Lead Project Engineer - Energy Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client requires a proactive and experienced Lead Project Engineer to oversee significant projects within the energy infrastructure domain, operating from their Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire base with a hybrid working arrangement. This senior role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of energy projects, from initial planning and design through to execution and commissioning. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, contributing directly to the UK's evolving energy landscape. This is a crucial role for driving project success and ensuring technical integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources effectively.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal engineering disciplines, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout project execution.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project engineering teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related) or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience (10+ years) in project engineering or project management within the energy sector .
• Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
