About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Lead Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Coventry . This senior role is critical for managing the financial aspects of multiple construction projects, from initial tender evaluation to final account settlement. You will be responsible for cost control, contract administration, and ensuring financial viability throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers the chance to work on diverse projects and to mentor junior members of the surveying team, contributing to a firm known for its integrity and expertise in the construction sector, providing a balanced work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties for assigned projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents, ensuring competitive and accurate submissions.
- Administer construction contracts, including managing variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs and financial performance, providing regular reports and financial forecasting to stakeholders.
- Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and clients to achieve favourable commercial outcomes.
- Mentor and develop junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor , with a significant portion in a lead or senior capacity within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of various contract forms (e.g., JCT, NEC) and their financial implications.
- Proficiency in cost management software and techniques.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field, ideally with professional accreditation (e.g., RICS).
