About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lead Quantity Surveyor to join their esteemed construction firm based in Manchester . You will take ownership of cost management, contract administration, and financial control across significant construction projects. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to balance strategic oversight from home with crucial on-site presence, ensuring financial viability and optimal project outcomes. You will be instrumental in managing client relationships and fostering a culture of financial accountability, contributing to the company's reputation for delivering high-quality projects efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all costs relating to building projects, from initial calculations to final figures.
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and schedules of rates.
- Negotiate and agree on the costs of variations in construction work.
- Advise on procurement strategy and contractual matters.
- Analyze completed work and costs, and prepare progress reports for senior management and clients.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure contractual compliance.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong understanding of construction contracts and dispute resolution.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage client expectations.
- Experience working in a hybrid or client-facing role within the construction industry .
