About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Research Scientist specializing in Biotechnology to spearhead innovative projects within their cutting-edge R&D department located in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves guiding a team of scientists, conceptualizing novel research directions, and driving the development of groundbreaking biotechnological solutions from ideation to potential commercialization. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of research scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific excellence.
• Design, execute, and analyze complex experiments in biotechnology and related fields.
• Develop and implement novel research strategies and methodologies to address key scientific challenges.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project completion.
• Prepare and present research findings to internal stakeholders, scientific conferences, and publications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development and regulatory affairs, to advance research pipelines.

Requirements

• PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral research experience, with proven experience in leading scientific teams and projects.
• Extensive hands-on experience with advanced laboratory techniques, including molecular cloning, cell culture, protein expression, and analysis.
• Demonstrated track record of scientific publications and/or patents in the field of biotechnology.
• Strong understanding of experimental design, data analysis, and statistical principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic research environment in Aberdeen .
