Lead Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative and strategic Lead Security Architect to drive the design and implementation of our organisation's comprehensive security architecture. This fully remote position requires a visionary leader who can develop and maintain a secure infrastructure that aligns with business objectives and protects against sophisticated threats. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction for security, influencing stakeholders across the company, and mentoring a team of security professionals. This is a critical role for an experienced architect passionate about building secure, scalable, and resilient systems in a remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document enterprise-wide security architectures, standards, and roadmaps.
• Evaluate and select appropriate security technologies and solutions to meet business and security requirements.
• Provide expert technical guidance and oversight on security aspects of major projects and initiatives.
• Lead threat modelling exercises and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to ensure security is embedded throughout the system lifecycle.
• Mentor and guide junior security architects and engineers, fostering a culture of security excellence.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a security architecture role.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing complex security solutions for large enterprises.
• Deep understanding of cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security, and application security.
• Expertise in security frameworks, risk management, and compliance regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, essential for a remote role.
