Lead Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead Security Architect to join their technology division, offering a hybrid working model based in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure enterprise-wide systems and infrastructure. This role requires a visionary approach to security, ensuring that our client's technology architecture is robust, scalable, and protected against an ever-evolving threat landscape. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to embed security best practices from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud and on-premises security architectures.
• Define security standards, patterns, and best practices for infrastructure, applications, and data.
• Evaluate and select appropriate security technologies and solutions to meet business requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to security engineers and development teams.
• Lead threat modeling exercises and architectural risk assessments for new initiatives.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive security architecture documentation and diagrams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in information security, with a strong focus on security architecture and design.
• Extensive experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern infrastructure technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of network security, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.
• Experience with security frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of application security principles and secure coding practices.
