Lead Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Security Engineer to spearhead their security engineering efforts in Southampton . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions that protect the company's systems and data. This leadership role involves guiding a team of engineers, architecting secure infrastructure, and championing security best practices. The ideal candidate is a technical expert with a passion for building secure, scalable, and resilient systems in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of security infrastructure and solutions.
• Architect and implement security controls across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Manage and mentor a team of security engineers, fostering their technical growth.
• Develop and maintain security automation, tooling, and processes.
• Conduct threat modeling and security reviews of new systems and applications.
• Respond to and manage complex security incidents, providing technical leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in security engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and network security.
• Strong experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools.
• Deep understanding of cryptography, identity and access management (IAM), and security monitoring.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
