About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and innovative Lead Security Engineer to spearhead their security engineering efforts from Manchester . In this pivotal role, you will design, build, and deploy advanced security solutions, taking ownership of the security architecture and infrastructure. You will guide a team of engineers, mentor junior staff, and work closely with other technology leaders to embed security best practices across all development and operational functions. This is an ideal position for a hands-on leader who is passionate about building secure systems and driving technological advancements in a forward-thinking company.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable and robust security solutions and architectures.
- Lead the security engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Automate security processes and deployments using scripting and CI/CD pipelines.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate new security technologies and tools.
- Collaborate with software development and operations teams to ensure security is a core component of all systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in security engineering , with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Expertise in designing and implementing cloud security solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Deep understanding of network security, cryptography, identity and access management (IAM), and security monitoring.
- Experience with container security and orchestration platforms is a strong plus.
