Overview
Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE Squad Lead) based in Darlington, County Durham, North East, UK . This is a Full time opportunity (£80,000).
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to an SRE squad, guiding engineering practices to improve reliability, availability, latency, and scalability of digital services.
- Lead incident management, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement of reliability engineering processes.
- Collaborate with DevOps, cloud platforms, security, and product teams to design and implement secure, scalable cloud-based solutions.
- Contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning, and automation to reduce toil and improve system resilience.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps leadership, or equivalent.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineers, manage priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and location-based requirements.
