About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Smart Contract Engineer to spearhead their smart contract development efforts in Coventry . This critical role involves architecting, developing, and securing complex smart contracts that underpin their innovative Crypto & Blockchain products. You will lead a team of talented engineers, ensuring the highest standards of code quality, security, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and auditing of secure and efficient smart contracts for various blockchain applications.
• Establish best practices for smart contract development, testing, and deployment within the engineering team.
• Mentor and guide junior smart contract developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaborate closely with product, security, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of smart contracts into larger systems.
• Research and implement advanced cryptographic techniques and security measures to protect against exploits and vulnerabilities.
• Oversee the performance monitoring and optimization of deployed smart contracts in a production environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused specifically on smart contract development .
• Expert proficiency in Solidity and experience with other smart contract languages (e.g., Vyper, Yul).
• Deep understanding of EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) architecture, gas optimization, and common security pitfalls.
• Experience with blockchain development frameworks like Hardhat, Truffle, or Foundry.
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of cryptographic principles and security best practices in the blockchain space.
