About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Smart Contract Engineer to spearhead their smart contract development efforts in Manchester . In this leadership role, you will guide a team of talented engineers in designing, developing, testing, and deploying secure and efficient smart contracts for various decentralized applications. You will play a crucial part in defining coding standards, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring the integrity and security of our blockchain protocols within the crypto & blockchain ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and auditing of secure and efficient smart contracts for decentralized finance (DeFi) and other blockchain applications.
• Establish and enforce best practices for smart contract development, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor and guide a team of smart contract engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to define smart contract requirements and roadmaps.
• Implement robust security measures and conduct thorough vulnerability assessments for all deployed contracts.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in smart contract languages, tools, and security vulnerabilities in the blockchain space.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years focused on smart contract development .
• Expertise in smart contract programming languages such as Solidity and experience with tools like Hardhat or Truffle.
• Deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including tokenomics, consensus mechanisms, and security best practices.
• Experience with smart contract auditing and formal verification techniques is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
