About the Role
Our client is seeking an visionary Lead Software Architect to define and guide the technical direction of their innovative Energy Tech solutions . This is a fully remote position , allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the UK, supporting projects and teams remotely. You will be instrumental in designing scalable, robust, and secure software architectures that underpin our client's cutting-edge products in the energy sector. This role demands a deep understanding of modern software development practices, cloud technologies, and the specific challenges and opportunities within the energy industry. You will lead by example, mentoring development teams and driving technical excellence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evolve scalable, reliable, and secure software architectures for cloud-native applications supporting the energy sector .
- Define technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for software development.
- Collaborate closely with product management, engineering teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical strategies.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for current and future projects.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to software engineers and development teams.
- Conduct architectural reviews, performance analysis, and security assessments to ensure system integrity and efficiency.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in a Software Architect or lead technical role.
- Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, distributed systems using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Expertise in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and architectural styles (e.g., Microservices, Event-Driven).
- Strong understanding of data engineering, AI/ML, and IoT concepts relevant to the energy industry .
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, capable of thriving in a fully remote work environment.
