About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Software Developer to guide their development team in Oxford . You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to technical strategy. This role requires a blend of strong technical skills, leadership capabilities, and a passion for building efficient, scalable applications. You will work closely with product managers and stakeholders to ensure that software development aligns with business objectives and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software developers in the design, coding, testing, and deployment of software applications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product management to define project scope, technical requirements, and timelines.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing strategies, and architectural patterns.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of software systems.
- Contribute to the architectural design and technology selection for new projects.
- Communicate project progress and technical challenges effectively to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
- Proven experience in designing and developing scalable, maintainable software applications.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools.
- Experience with database design and management (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
