About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Lead Software Engineer to guide their development team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This is a critical role responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will mentor and manage a team of engineers, foster a culture of technical excellence, and contribute directly to the architecture and strategic direction of our software products. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and performance feedback.
• Drive the architectural design and technical strategy for key software projects, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define roadmaps, prioritize features, and deliver software on schedule.
• Develop and implement best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing methodologies, and deployment processes.
• Hands-on coding and design for complex features, acting as a technical expert for the team in software engineering .
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions to ensure the stability and performance of our software systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or lead engineer role.
• Proven expertise in multiple programming languages and technologies (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go) and a strong understanding of software architecture patterns.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, foster collaboration, and drive technical excellence.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps practices .
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
