Lead Structural Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead Structural Engineer to join their fully remote team, contributing to significant construction projects across the UK. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and oversight of structural integrity for a variety of building types, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. This position requires a self-motivated individual with exceptional technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed teams. You will play a crucial role in guiding junior engineers and driving engineering excellence from conception through to project completion, all within a flexible, remote-first work culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for a diverse range of construction projects, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, specifications, and construction drawings .
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff remotely.
• Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other consultants via digital platforms.
• Conduct site visits as necessary, coordinating with on-site personnel to resolve structural issues.
• Stay abreast of advancements in structural engineering technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status (e.g., MIStructE, MICE) or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS) and CAD tools.
• Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and projects.
• Excellent understanding of UK building regulations and Eurocodes.
