About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join their prominent engineering consultancy in Birmingham . This role is crucial for delivering innovative and robust structural designs for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for leading engineering teams, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the technical excellence and compliance of all structural designs. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of structural elements for diverse construction projects, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
- Oversee and mentor a team of structural engineers, providing technical guidance, reviewing calculations, and managing project workloads.
- Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other disciplines to develop integrated and efficient structural solutions.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, resolve design queries, and ensure adherence to structural plans.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and design documentation for project submissions and approvals.
- Champion the adoption of new design technologies and methodologies to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation.
- A minimum of 7 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering design, with experience in leading design teams.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, Eurocodes, and relevant British Standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
