About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is critical for overseeing the structural integrity and design of projects within the demanding energy sector . You will be responsible for leading structural design activities, ensuring projects meet rigorous safety and performance standards, and mentoring junior engineers. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute significantly to the firm's technical excellence and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design process for energy infrastructure projects, from concept to completion.
- Develop and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for steel, concrete, and other materials.
- Conduct site visits and provide structural engineering support during construction phases.
- Ensure compliance with relevant national and international design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, AISC).
- Manage project timelines and budgets for structural engineering work packages.
- Mentor and guide a team of structural engineers, fostering technical growth and high-quality output.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a focus on the energy industry .
- Proven experience with structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS).
- Strong understanding of steel and concrete design principles and construction methods.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
