Lead Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is critical for overseeing the structural integrity and design of projects within the demanding energy sector . You will be responsible for leading structural design activities, ensuring projects meet rigorous safety and performance standards, and mentoring junior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process for energy infrastructure projects, from concept to completion.
• Develop and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for steel, concrete, and other materials.
• Conduct site visits and provide structural engineering support during construction phases.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, AISC).
• Manage project timelines and budgets for structural engineering work packages.
• Mentor and guide a team of structural engineers, fostering technical growth and high-quality output.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a focus on the energy industry .
• Proven experience with structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS).
• Strong understanding of steel and concrete design principles and construction methods.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
