Lead Subsea Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Lead Subsea Engineer to spearhead their subsea system design and development initiatives based in Sunderland . This senior position involves leading a team of engineers in the design, analysis, and procurement of subsea production systems, including pipelines, structures, and equipment. You will ensure technical integrity, safety, and compliance with industry standards throughout the project lifecycle. This role is essential for driving innovation and excellence in subsea engineering for challenging offshore projects, contributing to the company's reputation as a leader in the industry from their Sunderland base.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptual and detailed design of subsea field developments , including pipelines, risers, and structures.
• Manage engineering teams and coordinate design activities with multidisciplinary departments.
• Perform stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and integrity assessments for subsea components.
• Develop technical specifications and oversee the procurement and fabrication of subsea equipment.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (e.g., DNV, API), and client requirements.
• Provide technical support during offshore installation and commissioning phases.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Ocean Engineering.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in subsea engineering , with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Expertise in subsea system design, analysis tools (e.g., Orcaflex), and relevant software.
• Thorough understanding of offshore installation processes and challenges.
• Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
