About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Subsea Pipeline Engineer to manage their pipeline engineering activities in Derby . This role is vital for the design, analysis, integrity, and management of subsea pipeline systems essential for the Oil & Gas industry. You will lead a team of engineers, ensuring that all pipeline projects meet stringent safety, environmental, and performance standards, from concept through to decommissioning. This is a key leadership position requiring strong technical acumen and project oversight, based in our client's central office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the detailed design and engineering of subsea pipeline systems, including route selection, sizing, and material specifications.
- Perform advanced engineering calculations for stress, strain, fatigue, and stability analysis.
- Develop and review pipeline installation procedures, including trenching and support methods.
- Oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, and decommissioning planning for pipeline assets.
- Manage the integrity and life extension of existing subsea pipeline infrastructure.
- Mentor and develop junior pipeline engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in subsea pipeline engineering within the Oil & Gas sector .
- Expertise in subsea pipeline design codes and standards (e.g., DNV, API, ASME).
- Proficiency in pipeline design and analysis software (e.g., OFFPIPE, Flexcom, SACS).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver technical solutions in an office environment.
