About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Lead Subsurface Engineer to join their innovative, fully remote team. This role is pivotal in driving the technical direction and execution of subsurface exploration and development activities across various projects globally. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering, and petrophysics to identify and unlock new opportunities, optimizing recovery from existing assets. Key Responsibilities
- Lead subsurface evaluation, including prospect identification, resource estimation, and risk assessment for exploration and development projects.
- Integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and reservoir engineering data to build comprehensive subsurface models.
- Develop and execute optimized field development plans and reservoir management strategies.
- Oversee drilling and completion engineering input for subsurface objectives, ensuring data acquisition and wellbore placement are effective.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to subsurface teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Present technical findings and recommendations to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Stay current with advancements in subsurface technologies and methodologies, driving their adoption where appropriate.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, or a related subsurface discipline.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in subsurface engineering , including significant leadership roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in integrated subsurface interpretation, reservoir characterization, and performance analysis.
- Proficiency with industry-standard subsurface software suites (e.g., Petrel, Landmark).
- Strong understanding of exploration, appraisal, and development processes within the oil and gas industry .
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills, critical for success in a remote team environment.
