About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Lead Traffic Engineer to drive innovation within their transportation planning and design team in Leeds . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of traffic management schemes and transport infrastructure projects.
- Develop traffic models and analyze data to assess traffic flow, predict future demand, and identify potential issues.
- Design junction improvements, traffic signal installations, and pedestrian/cyclist facilities.
- Prepare technical reports, design documents, and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and public consultations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant traffic engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Mentor and guide a team of traffic engineers and technicians, fostering technical expertise and professional growth.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
- Proven experience in traffic modelling software (e.g., PTV Vissim, SIDRA) and design software.
- Strong understanding of traffic control systems, road safety principles, and sustainable transport planning.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple projects concurrently in Leeds .
