Lead UX/UI Designer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead UX/UI Designer to spearhead their digital product design efforts, working remotely from Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for defining the user experience strategy and translating it into intuitive and visually appealing interfaces across web and mobile platforms. This is a critical role where you will guide the design vision, mentor a team of designers, and collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to deliver exceptional user-centred products. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design process for digital products, from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and UI design.
• Develop and maintain user personas, journey maps, and information architecture to inform design decisions.
• Conduct user testing and gather feedback to iterate on designs and improve usability.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and successful implementation of designs.
• Mentor and guide other UX/UI designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and innovation.
• Champion user-centred design principles and best practices throughout the organization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user research, interaction design, and visual design for web and mobile applications.
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
• Experience leading design sprints, user interviews, and usability testing sessions.
• Excellent understanding of user-centred design principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
