About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead VFX Artist to head their visual effects team in Milton Keynes . In this critical role, you will be responsible for guiding the creation of spectacular visual effects that bring our projects to life, ensuring a cohesive and high-impact aesthetic. You will lead a team of talented VFX artists, providing artistic direction, technical expertise, and mentorship to achieve breathtaking results. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of VFX artists throughout the entire production pipeline.
- Design, create, and implement high-quality visual effects, including explosions, magic, environmental effects, and more.
- Collaborate closely with directors, art leads, and technical directors to define and achieve the desired visual quality.
- Develop and maintain efficient VFX workflows and toolsets to enhance productivity and artistic output.
- Oversee the integration of VFX into the game engine or rendering pipeline, ensuring performance and visual fidelity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in VFX Art for games or film, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong portfolio showcasing complex visual effects, particle systems, shaders, and compositing.
- Proficiency in industry-standard VFX software such as Houdini, Maya, After Effects, and game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Deep understanding of physical simulation, lighting, rendering, and color theory.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
