About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Well Integrity Engineer to oversee well integrity management for their operations, based in Derby . This crucial role focuses on ensuring the safety and environmental soundness of all wells throughout their lifecycle, from drilling through to decommissioning. You will develop and implement comprehensive well integrity programs, conduct risk assessments, and lead the engineering team in maintaining wells to the highest industry standards. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of downhole mechanics, materials, and regulatory requirements within the oil and gas sector .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust well integrity management systems (WIMS) in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for wells, identifying potential failure mechanisms and developing mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the planning and execution of well integrity testing, monitoring, and intervention operations.
- Provide technical expertise on well completion design, equipment selection, and materials suitability.
- Lead and mentor a team of well integrity engineers and technicians.
- Review and approve well integrity reports, procedures, and designs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in well integrity engineering or related fields within the oil and gas industry .
- In-depth knowledge of downhole equipment, cementing , corrosion, and failure analysis.
- Proficiency in well integrity software and data management systems.
- Strong understanding of API standards, ISO standards, and regulatory frameworks governing well integrity.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
