About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Lean Industrial Engineer to join their manufacturing operations in Norwich . This role is central to driving efficiency and eliminating waste across all production processes. You will be hands-on, working directly with shop floor teams to implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Your focus will be on optimizing workflows, reducing operational costs, and improving product quality. This is an on-site position offering a direct impact on the company's productivity and competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate lean manufacturing projects, including value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and Kanban systems.
- Analyze production data to identify waste and opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Develop and implement standardized work procedures and ensure their adherence.
- Train and coach production personnel on lean principles and problem-solving techniques.
- Monitor the performance of implemented lean initiatives and make necessary adjustments for sustainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of lean methodologies into all aspects of operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of practical experience in implementing lean manufacturing methodologies in an industrial setting.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement projects and achieve measurable results.
- Strong understanding of 5S, Kaizen, VSM, and other lean tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on the factory floor and engage with all levels of personnel.
