Lean Manufacturing Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Lean Manufacturing Specialist to join their esteemed team in Glasgow . This role is central to driving operational excellence by championing and implementing lean principles across all manufacturing functions. You will be responsible for identifying and eliminating waste, optimizing workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is passionate about lean methodologies, possesses strong analytical skills, and has a proven ability to lead change initiatives effectively within a manufacturing environment. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall product quality for our distinguished client.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and sustainment of lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen events, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify non-value-added activities and develop strategies for their elimination.
• Train and coach operational teams on lean principles and best practices to build internal capabilities.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to lean implementation, such as cycle time reduction and inventory turnover.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams in problem-solving activities to address manufacturing challenges.
• Ensure adherence to lean standards and support continuous improvement efforts across the production floor.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Engineering , Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience focused on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Proven experience in leading successful Kaizen events and implementing 5S programs.
• Strong understanding of various lean tools and methodologies.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and change management skills.
• Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable process improvements.
