Learning Adviser

Willmott Dixon are recruiting a full-time Learning Adviser to play a key role in supporting the development of our people at every stage of their careers, from apprentices and trainees to experienced professionals, managers, and senior leaders. This is a national role that requires regular travel across the UK, alongside a flexible working arrangement that includes working from home up to two days per week.

The role reports into our Learning Manager ( technical and early careers) and supports technical learning, professional development, Early Careers and legal, safety and organisational compliance training. This is essential to help our people access the learning, qualifications and development opportunities to perform their roles safely and effectively now as well as offering them support to progress their careers in the future.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a trusted source of advice on professional development, helping people at all career stages understand the most appropriate qualification, apprenticeship, professional membership for their role and aspirations. Support apprentices, trainees and graduates through structured development pathways and help managers provide effective workplace development. Work with leaders, managers and technical specialists to understand current and future capability requirements, providing advice and challenge on the most effective development solutions. Support learning linked to legal, regulatory, safety and organisational compliance requirements. Monitor mandatory and role-required training and work with managers to address gaps where required. Work closely with Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and technical teams to ensure learning requirements remain current and relevant. Build strong relationships with colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers, professional bodies and specialist training providers. Use learning, qualification and compliance data to identify priorities, measure impact and demonstrate the value of learning. Identify opportunities to make effective use of apprenticeship levy and other available funding. Plan and manage learning events, coordinating venues, providers, delegate communications and on-the-day arrangements.Essential Criteria

A full UK driving licence is required. Experience in learning and development, technical training, Early Careers or talent development. Experience working within construction, engineering, infrastructure or another technical or safety-critical environment. A good understanding of workplace learning, competence and professional development. Knowledge of qualification and development routes, including apprenticeships, vocational qualifications and professional accreditations. Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work with people at all levels. Experience coordinating learning programmes and events and working with external providers. Strong organisation, communication and analytical skills. The ability to understand technical or compliance requirements and turn them into practical development solutions.

Desirable Criteria Knowledge of construction professional bodies such as CIOB, RICS, CIBSE or APM, apprenticeship funding, chartership routes or construction safety training.Personal Attributes
