About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Learning Disabilities Support Officer to join their team, working remotely to support individuals across the Cambridge region. This role involves providing personalised support to adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will be instrumental in helping clients develop life skills, access community resources, and achieve their personal goals, all coordinated through remote communication and support planning. This is a vital role for someone passionate about person-centred care and social inclusion, leveraging technology to deliver high-quality support from a distance within the Cambridge community.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement person-centred support plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
• Facilitate client independence and skill development through remote coaching and guidance.
• Assist clients in accessing community services, employment, and social activities.
• Provide emotional support and advocacy, ensuring clients' voices are heard.
• Monitor client progress and well-being, reporting any concerns or changes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and communication logs.

Requirements

• Experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities or in a similar care role.
• Strong understanding of person-centred planning and independent living principles.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using digital platforms for communication, support, and record-keeping.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a remote caseload effectively.
