About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Disabilities Support Worker to join their valued team in Belfast . You will be instrumental in supporting individuals with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives within their community. This role requires a sensitive and person-centered approach, focusing on enabling clients to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to individuals with learning disabilities, assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, and community integration.
• Develop and implement individual support plans, setting achievable goals in collaboration with clients and their families.
• Promote independence, choice, and inclusion by encouraging clients to participate in activities and access community resources.
• Administer medication as prescribed and accurately document all care provided, observations, and any changes in a client's condition.
• Support clients in managing their finances, attending appointments, and developing life skills such as cooking and household management.
• Act as a positive role model and advocate for clients, ensuring their rights and dignity are upheld at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is essential.
• A good understanding of person-centered planning and the principles of independent living.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and maintaining accurate documentation.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is highly desirable.
• A patient, empathetic, and reliable approach to care provision.
