Learning Disabilities Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking compassionate and dedicated Learning Disabilities Support Workers to join their team in Nottingham . This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will work closely with service users, their families, and other professionals to promote well-being, social inclusion, and personal development. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, respecting their dignity and choices.
• Assist service users with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, engaging in social activities, and pursuing personal interests.
• Develop and implement person-centred support plans in collaboration with service users and their families.
• Monitor and report on the well-being and progress of service users, escalating any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Promote independence, choice, and inclusion for all individuals supported.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is preferred, but not essential.
• A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, including NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
