Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to individuals with learning disabilities, assisting with personal care, domestic tasks, and daily routines.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in community activities, hobbies, and social events.
- Support clients in developing life skills and promoting independence, fostering self-confidence.
- Administer medication as prescribed, adhering to strict protocols and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Observe and report any changes in behaviour or well-being, escalating concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Act as an advocate for clients, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and met.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is highly valued.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and understanding approach.
- Ability to work creatively and proactively to meet individual needs.
- Reliability, flexibility, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Willingness to complete relevant training, including first aid and safeguarding.
- Understanding of person-centred planning and rights-based approaches.
