About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and patient Learning Disabilities Support Worker to join their team in Reading . This role is focused on providing essential support to adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to lead fulfilling and independent lives within their community. You will work closely with individuals to understand their unique needs, preferences, and goals, providing person-centred care that promotes choice, dignity, and inclusion in all aspects of their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with daily living tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal preparation.
• Assisting clients to access and participate in community activities, education, and employment opportunities.
• Implementing and following individual support plans, ensuring consistency of care.
• Promoting independence, self-advocacy, and decision-making skills.
• Communicating effectively with clients, families, and other professionals involved in their care.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential records of support provided and client progress.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is essential.
• A compassionate and understanding approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of person-centred planning and positive behaviour support strategies.
• Ability to work flexibly, including shifts, evenings, and weekends.
• A full UK driving license may be required for community-based support.
