Learning Disabilities Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and dedicated Learning Disabilities Support Worker to join their supportive team in Belfast . This role is focused on providing person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives within their community. You will assist clients with daily living tasks, facilitate their engagement in social and recreational activities, and promote their overall well-being and self-advocacy. Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to individuals with learning disabilities in their homes and community settings.
• Assist with personal care routines, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, ensuring dignity and respect.
• Support clients in developing life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and using public transport.
• Facilitate participation in community activities, hobbies, and social events to enhance quality of life.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of support provided, including any progress or changes observed.
• Liaise with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is essential.
• A compassionate, patient, and understanding attitude towards vulnerable adults.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication styles to meet individual needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Willingness to undertake required training, including QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
• A valid driving license and access to a vehicle may be advantageous for community-based roles in Belfast .
