About the Role
Our client is seeking a caring and patient Learning Disability Support Worker to join their dedicated team in Cambridge . You will provide essential support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to lead fulfilling and independent lives within their community. This role involves assisting with daily activities, promoting social inclusion, and supporting personal development goals. The ideal candidate will be understanding, reliable, and committed to providing person-centred care, ensuring that individuals receive the respect, dignity, and support they deserve in the Cambridgeshire area. You will work as part of a supportive team focused on enhancing the quality of life for those we support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized support tailored to the individual needs of clients with learning disabilities.
- Assist with personal care, household tasks, and accessing the community.
- Support clients in participating in social, recreational, and educational activities.
- Promote independence and encourage clients to develop new skills and make choices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided.
- Liaise with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is an advantage.
- A genuine passion for helping others and promoting independence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and some evenings in Cambridge .
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.
