About the Role
Our client is searching for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Disability Support Worker to join their supportive team in Cambridge . This role focuses on empowering individuals with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives. You will provide tailored support, enabling residents to achieve personal goals, engage in community activities, and develop essential life skills. Working within a person-centred framework, you will contribute to creating a positive and enabling environment for residents in Cambridge .
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Assist individuals in engaging with community activities, hobbies, and social events.
- Promote independence and help individuals develop life skills.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement, fostering positive relationships.
- Monitor individual progress and contribute to care planning and review meetings.
- Ensure a safe and supportive living environment for all residents.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and reliable nature.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
- Understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care principles.
