About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Disability Support Worker to join their team in Derby , Derbyshire. This role is focused on providing essential support to individuals with learning disabilities, helping them to live fulfilling and independent lives within their community. You will work closely with clients, assisting them with daily living activities, promoting social inclusion, and supporting their personal development. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities in their homes and community settings.
- Assist clients with personal care, domestic tasks, meal preparation, and medication management as per their support plan.
- Encourage and facilitate clients' participation in social, recreational, and educational activities to promote independence and well-being.
- Support clients in developing life skills, decision-making, and community integration.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of support provided, observations, and any significant changes in clients' needs.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the wider support network, reporting any concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is highly desirable.
- A compassionate and patient attitude with excellent communication and listening skills.
- Understanding of person-centred care principles and the importance of dignity and respect.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently, managing your own schedule effectively.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development.
- Must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for use during working hours.
