About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a primary school team in Liverpool , focusing on supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEND). This role is essential in providing tailored assistance to pupils, enabling them to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels empowered to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-class support to students with SEND , assisting with academic tasks and promoting independence.
- Implement individual learning plans designed by teachers and the SENCO, providing targeted interventions.
- Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development, fostering positive relationships.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the maintenance of the classroom environment.
- Accompany students on educational visits, ensuring their safety and engagement.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- An understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and how to support them.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE level or equivalent).
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and school staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting student learning.
