Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide invaluable assistance to students across various age groups at a school in Wolverhampton . You will work closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to support pupils with diverse learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their personal best. This role is fundamental in creating an inclusive environment where every student feels supported and valued. The position offers a blend of in-person classroom support and remote administrative/planning tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with identified learning difficulties or disabilities.
• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering differentiated learning activities and resources.
• Help students to develop their literacy, numeracy, and social skills through targeted interventions.
• Support pupils' physical and emotional well-being, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain records of student progress and contribute to support plan reviews.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• An understanding of different learning needs and how to support them effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting student development.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and adapt to hybrid working requirements.
