Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work across a variety of mainstream schools throughout Sheffield. This is a temporary, flexible ongoing supply opportunity, with roles supporting pupils across different ages and abilities.
Position: Learning Support Assistant Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply Pay: £92.56 - £95 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay) Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support pupils with their learning and development within mainstream schools across Sheffield. Depending on the school and pupil needs, the role may involve general classroom support, small-group activities, 1:1 support or assisting pupils with SEN.
The Learning Support Assistant position is ideal for someone who is patient, enthusiastic and enjoys helping children build confidence and independence. Experience supporting pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD or SEMH would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Provide classroom, 1:1 and small-group learning support Assist teachers with learning activities Support pupils with additional needs where required Encourage positive behaviour and engagement Help pupils develop confidence and independence Adapt support to suit individual learning needs Build positive relationships with pupils and staff Follow school safeguarding proceduresCandidate Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people Experience in a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or similar role is desirable Understanding of SEN is beneficial Patient, reliable and approachable nature Strong communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Enhanced DBS Certificate, or willingness to obtain oneWhat Academics Offer
