Learning Support Assistant - Ashford, Kent
Academics are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Ashford.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school environment where you will play an important role in helping children feel confident, included and supported throughout their school day. The school has a high level of SEN needs, so this role would suit someone who is passionate about making a positive difference to children who may require additional support.
Previous experience within a school or working with children is desirable but not essential. We are happy to hear from applicants from a wide range of backgrounds who are caring, patient, dependable and keen to develop their experience working with children.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting children with their learning, development and day-to-day needs Providing additional one-to-one or small-group support where required Helping pupils with SEN to engage positively with their learning Working closely with teachers and wider school staff Encouraging children to develop their confidence, independence and social skills Creating a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels supported
What we're looking for:
A warm, patient and approachable personality A genuine interest in supporting children and helping them succeed Good communication and teamwork skills Someone reliable and committed to working Monday to Friday Previous experience working with children is preferred but not essential Any previous SEN experience would be beneficial Enhanced DBS held or willingness to obtain oneWhether you're an experienced Learning Support Assistant, have worked with children in another setting, are looking to start a career in education, or simply have the right attitude and passion for supporting young people - we'd be very keen to hear from you.
