Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: South Gloucestershire

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: £96.25 to £105 per day

The school is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering one-to-one and small group interventions, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, promoting positive behaviour, and working closely with teaching staff to ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Promote positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure every student reaches full potential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school, college, youth work or similar setting.
• Confidence supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Understanding of effective behaviour management strategies.
• Experience supporting students with SEN and/or SEMH is desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, enthusiastic and proactive approach to supporting learning.
