About the Role

Our client, a charity dedicated to providing lifelong support for individuals with specific needs, is seeking a compassionate and driven Legacy Fundraising Officer to join their organization in a fully remote capacity. This vital role focuses on increasing income through gifts in wills, a critical source of long-term funding for the charity's essential programs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to encourage supporters to remember the charity in their wills, manage relationships with potential and existing legacy donors, and raise awareness of the importance of legacy giving. This position is ideal for someone who can communicate sensitive topics with empathy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to increase legacy income for the charity.
• Engage with supporters to discuss legacy giving options, answer queries, and encourage them to include the charity in their wills.
• Manage relationships with solicitors and executors involved in legacy administration.
• Create and deliver marketing materials and communications that promote legacy giving effectively.
• Monitor and report on legacy income and pipeline, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.

Requirements

• Experience in legacy fundraising or a related field such as fundraising, donor relations, or wealth management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and discuss sensitive topics with empathy.
• Strong understanding of fundraising best practices and ethical considerations in legacy giving.
• Proficiency in donor database management and reporting.
