Legal Advisor - Financial Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Legal Advisor with a strong background in Financial Services to join their dynamic team in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for providing expert legal guidance on regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, and corporate governance within the highly regulated financial sector. You will collaborate closely with business units to ensure adherence to legal frameworks and support strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on financial services regulations (e.g., FCA, PRA rules) and compliance matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including service level agreements and vendor contracts.
• Support corporate governance activities and ensure compliance with company law.
• Advise on financial crime, anti-money laundering (AML), and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures.
• Assist with legal aspects of product development and launch within the financial services space.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience in financial services regulation.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Thorough understanding of UK financial services regulatory landscape.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing office and remote duties.
