Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary / Paralegal – Employment Law
Location: Berkshire
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum, with flexibility depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Parkside Recruitment is working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Berkshire, who are looking to strengthen their growing Employment Law team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in legal support who is looking to develop their career within Employment Law.
The client is flexible on the level of the appointment and would consider candidates with experience as a:
Legal Assistant
Legal Secretary
Career Paralegal The level and salary offered will depend on the successful candidate's experience. Previous Employment Law experience would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong legal support experience from another practice area will also be considered.
The Role Working closely with an Employment Law fee earner, you will provide a broad range of administrative and legal support to help ensure matters are managed efficiently from opening through to completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
Opening and closing client files using the firm's case management system
Completing compliance and anti-money laundering checks
Liaising with clients, arranging appointments and responding to general queries
Preparing and processing invoices
Maintaining accurate client records and filing systems
Liaising with third parties including barristers, the Employment Tribunal and other law firms
Preparing correspondence and supporting documentation
General legal administration including scanning, filing, photocopying and data entry
Providing wider support to the Employment Law team as required About You We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:
Previous experience within a law firm, legal support or professional services environment
Employment Law experience, ideally, although this is not essential
Experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or Paralegal
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
A professional, friendly and client-focused approach
Confidence using Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel
Experience using a legal case management system would be advantageous This role could suit someone looking to build their experience within Employment Law, as well as a more experienced career Paralegal or Legal Secretary looking for a long-term position within a supportive firm
