Legal Counsel - 6 month contract

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Commercial / Technology Legal Counsel to provide pragmatic, high-quality legal advice and transaction support across a broad range of commercial and technology matters. This is a 6-month assignment

The role will involve drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and technology contracts, managing legal and commercial risk, and supporting transactions through to completion. You will develop a strong understanding of business strategy and operational priorities, providing clear, practical advice that enables the organisation to achieve its objectives within an agreed risk appetite.

You will build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business and work collaboratively with Procurement, Finance, Tax, Property, Data Protection, Company Secretariat and other specialist teams.

A key focus will be improving the delivery of legal services through self-service tools, guidance, training, technology and process improvements . You will proactively identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce risk and improve stakeholder capability, using MI and market insights to drive continuous improvement.

You will also manage external legal advisers where appropriate, ensuring quality, value for money and effective cost management.

The candidate:

• UK-qualified solicitor 5+ years' PQE in transactional commercial law, with technology contracting experience
• Commercially minded, collaborative, confident with technology and an excellent communicator and negotiator.
