Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracts

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel with a focus on Commercial Contracts to join their in-house legal team based in Norwich . This role is critical for supporting the company's commercial operations by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements. You will work closely with various business departments, ensuring that contracts align with company strategy and mitigate legal and commercial risks. The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting skills and a thorough understanding of commercial law principles within the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supply, distribution, and partnership contracts.
• Provide legal advice on contract interpretation, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.
• Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage the contract lifecycle, from initial drafting to execution and renewal.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and provide practical legal solutions.
• Stay abreast of changes in commercial law and advise the business accordingly.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Significant experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts .
• Strong understanding of contract law, consumer law, and intellectual property.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in commercial legal practice, preferably with in-house experience.
