Legal Counsel - Data Privacy

About the Role

Our client is seeking an expert Legal Counsel with a specialization in Data Privacy to join their fully remote legal team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for advising the organisation on all aspects of data protection law, including GDPR and other relevant privacy regulations. You will work proactively to ensure compliance, manage data breach responses, and guide the company on privacy-by-design principles. This is an outstanding opportunity for a privacy lawyer to make a significant impact in a dynamic, remote-first organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on data protection laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy regulations.
• Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Manage and respond to data subject requests and data breach incidents.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for new projects and initiatives.
• Liaise with data protection authorities and external counsel on privacy matters.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in data privacy and protection law .
• In-depth understanding of GDPR and related international privacy frameworks.
• Experience in drafting privacy policies, notices, and contractual clauses.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
