Legal Counsel - Real Estate

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Legal Counsel with a specialization in Real Estate law to join their forward-thinking legal department in Reading . This role is crucial for providing expert legal advice and support on a wide range of property transactions, development projects, and landlord and tenant matters across the UK . You will work closely with the property and investment teams, ensuring all legal aspects of real estate ventures are handled with precision and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute a variety of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and leases.
• Advise on property development projects, planning permissions, and related legal documentation.
• Provide expert legal counsel on landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals and dilapidations.
• Review and negotiate commercial leases, sale and purchase agreements, and development agreements.
• Conduct thorough property due diligence for investments and acquisitions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant property laws and regulations within the UK .

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years' PQE in commercial real estate law.
• Demonstrable experience in handling complex property transactions and development projects.
• Strong understanding of landlord and tenant legislation and property finance.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Familiarity with property IT systems and remote collaboration tools is advantageous.
