Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience Job Type: Full-time, permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Location: Hull City Centre – office-based
About the Role
We are looking for a hardworking and motivated Commercial Property Secretary to join our busy property team, providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to our fee earners.
This is a full-time, office-based role in our Hull city centre office. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a property team and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, organisation and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
You will be an integral part of the team, supporting fee earners in delivering an efficient and exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Completing digital dictations using BigHand
- Regular and accurate typing of correspondence, documents and emails
- Providing day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to commercial property fee earners
- Receiving telephone calls and enquiries from clients and third parties and responding to queries appropriately
- Preparing outgoing post, including printing, scanning and photocopying
- Making Land Registry enquiries
- Preparing and formatting correspondence and legal documentation
- Maintaining accurate electronic and paper files
- Managing incoming and outgoing communications
- Assisting fee earners with general administrative tasks
- Working to deadlines and prioritising tasks effectively
- Providing a professional and friendly service to clients and third parties
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Hardworking, reliable and motivated
- Experienced in working within a property team, ideally within a legal environment
- Used to typing as a key part of their role and confident producing accurate documents and correspondence
- Able to work effectively in a busy environment and under pressure
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicating with clients, colleagues and third parties
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable using digital dictation systems, particularly BigHand
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Professional, approachable and committed to providing excellent client service
Experience
Previous experience as a legal secretary, property secretary, legal administrator or similar role within a property team is essential.
Experience within a commercial property environment and knowledge of Land Registry processes would be advantageous
