About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Leisure Centre Assistant to join their team in Edinburgh . You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the centre, providing excellent service to all members and visitors. This role involves a variety of duties, from assisting with facility upkeep to managing customer inquiries and supporting various activities. We are looking for a reliable individual with a can-do attitude who is passionate about promoting health and wellbeing within the Edinburgh community. This hands-on position requires a flexible approach and a commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for everyone who uses the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting members with their enquiries, memberships, and facility bookings.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of all leisure centre areas, including changing rooms and activity spaces.
• Supervising activities in the pool, gym, or sports halls, ensuring safety regulations are followed.
• Operating reception and point-of-sale systems for admissions and retail sales.
• Setting up and taking down equipment for various classes and sporting events.
• Responding promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies within the centre.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is advantageous.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a public facility.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• A genuine interest in sports and leisure activities.
